Wat Phu Dan Tae or Wat Phutthathomatharo is along Highway No.212, about 4 kilometers from Nikhom Kham Soi district at the 134th-kilometer marker. The temple is at Ban Chai Mongkhon, Chokchai Subdistrict, Nikhom Kham Soi District. Visitors can worship the large buddha image called Luang Pho Thammachak, enshrined on the roof of the main hall. It is a brick and cement Buddha image in the attitude of giving the first sermon. It is the applied Rattanakosin Art, designed by a monk "Lee Dhammadharo," intended to be built the Buddha image at Wat Asokaram, Samut Prakan Province. The Buddha image faces the Gulf of Thailand, a refuge for sailors and people living nearby neighborhoods. After Luang Por Lee had passed away, there was no one to carry on his intention. Phra Ajarn Sompong Khantiko, the disciple of Phra Ajarn Lee, the abbot of Wat Phutthodhamdharo, had carried on the purpose by building the buddha image according to the style that Luang Por Lee designed. Luang Pho Thammachak is on the roof of the main hall. The Buddha image is very tall, facing east. It is about 500 meters from Chayangkun Road, where people can see the Buddha image. In front of Luang Por Thammachak, there are statues of the Buddhist saints facing the buddha image. From left to right, Anya Kondanya, Vappa, Buddhiya, Maha Nama, and Assaji. Behind Luang Por Thammachak, there is a giant wheel of the law (Dharma Chakra). It is tall as Luang Por Thammachak. It is more strange than every Buddha statue, making it attractive to the general public to visit and worship. Interested tourists can get to the temple by riding on road number 212, Nikhom Kham Soi district, away from Mukdahan town 15-16 kilometers, at the 134th-kilometer marker, turn right. Then, you will find a large Buddha image in the posture of giving dharma with a giant wheel radiating aura on top with a beautiful delicacy. The Buddha image is on a small hill. The people from different places always come to worship and see the magnificent scenery.
